Guidelines for Student Posts and Comments on Mr. P's Panther Bookshelf Blog

The blog is almost ready for student comments and posts. However, there is one last "housekeeping" item that needs to be done and that is posting the guidelines below for student comments and posts. Please keep mind these guidelines are not to restrict "what you say", but they are intended to improve "how you say it" and to keep everyone safe.

(1) No student may post any information or images on the blog that could compromise the safety of himself or other blog members. This includes home addresses, telephone numbers, student or family pictures, etc.

(2) All comments/posts must be respectful in tone and language {even where there is disagreement with a previous post or comment}.

(3) All comments/posts must contain correct punctuation, capitalization, word usage, and spelling.

(4) All comments/posts that contain the following: "trash talk/slang", inappropriate language, personal insults, profanity, racist, sexist or any tupe of discriminatory remarks will NOT be published.

(5) All comments/posts that contain uncited use of copyrighted material or images will be deemed as plagiarism and will NOT be published.

Consequences: ALL student comments or posts will be moderated before being published. Failure to abide  by these guidelines will result in the student's comment or post not being published. Repeated attempts to publish comments or posts that do not meet these guidelines will result in that student's ability to post or comment on this blog being discontinued.

In closing, I am extremely excited to give SSHS students a platform to write their own book reviews and comments on future library topics that will be posted on this blog.

Crack a Book and Open Your Mind!
